This is a great toy for train loving kids, a great upgrade as your child grows out of the wooden version. It has also proven to be a useful way to teach him how to be careful with something. It is not fragile, but nowhere near as durable (obviously) as the wooden (Brio) Thomas trains ; accessories, and requires more care and attention.
Useful bit of info: this set only has enough track for a (pretty boring) oval. If you want to expand it, you need to know which color ez-track comes in the set (Bachman EZ track comes in two colors: black and grey roadbed). None of the pictures or descriptions I was able to find told that: it's the black roadbed. This is a bit of a disadvantage, and my only complaint, as the number of expansion options from bachmann for the black roadbed are much more limited than for the grey. I don't know why.

This is a beautiful Thomas the Tank Engine set. It comes with his coaches Annie and Clairabel. It also has Sir Tophamm Hatt and Harold. Thomas's face looks just like the Thomas on PBS. My grandson loved opening this present on Christmas.
