Customer Reviews
This railer makes it a snap to place cars on the track. You set it on top of a straight section of fastrack and let the cars roll onto the track. Kids like to use it, but I think that adults wouldn't use it too often. Since it's not that hard to put cars on the track by hand, you are more apt to do it by hand than to take time to pull this out. The hardest thing to set on the tracks is probably the engine. This doesn't work too well with engines since their drive wheels don't turn when not powered. Try placing cars by hand first. If you are having difficulty, then buy this.
That depends.
If you are just putting three cars onto a simple oval, the answer is almost certainly no. You could still use it, and it would save you some infinitesimal amount of time (and aggravation), but you wouldn't need it.
If you are putting thirty cars onto a large layout, the answer is almost certainly yes. The time you'd save (and the frustration you'd avoid!) using it even once would justify the purchase price.
For situations in between a good rule of thumb is that if you can ever recall being frustrated at getting some cars railed properly, it will be worth it to you; otherwise, not.
It works on any kind of O gauge track excepting SuperStreets and works best on a straight piece. You can set it right down on the track or hold it at whatever angle you prefer. Of course it only works for free wheeling rolling stock, locomotives will still have to be railed by hand, and it will work best for cars having operating couplers so you can just push them together.
If you take pride in doing things the hard way, never mind, but if you prefer "smoothing it" to "roughing it", you will be buying one, and one is all you need.
